We have been commissioned by the Lingkod National Office to create an online training course that will be used by committed Lingkod members (worldwide) who are about to, or have just been, called to serve as ACTION GROUP LEADERS for the first time.

THE NEED

As you know, the Action Group is where Lingkod members support one another in living a Spirit-filled life, as individual Christians in the marketplace but also as a member of Ang Lingkod ng Panginoon.  And the Action Group Leaders are supposed to lead the members in their assigned group in this effort.  In a real and practical sense, the strength AND growth of Lingkod depends on the strength of the Action Group Leaders.

Because Lingkod is growing rapidly, and because of the transitory nature of its membership, there is a continuing need to keep raising and training good Action Group Leaders both to replenish and to grow the pool of leaders.  This is the responsibility of the Branch Leader and Branch Woman Moderator.

It is desired therefore that as soon as there is a need to train one or several members as Action Group Leaders, the persons being lined up should already undergo training, without having to wait for a regional training event sometime in the future.  We need to have properly trained leaders as soon as they have a group assigned to them.

THE TRAINING STRATEGY

The training plan is therefore going to be composed of the following:

  1. An online course for first-time Action Group Leaders.
  2. Blended with coaching by either their Unit Leader or Branch Leader / BWM.
  3. Supplemented by a Leaders’ Retreat.
  4. Follow-on trainings on an ongoing and case-to-case basis.

OUR MISSION

Our mission — as the eLearning Design Group (or whatever you want to call ourselves) — is to create Item 1 above, namely to create an online course for first-time Action Group Leaders.  By the end of this course that we are supposed to design, the trainee must be able to:

  1. Lead and manage an Action Group meeting.
  2. Help his / her members take responsibility for their personal spiritual growth.
  3. Help his / her members fulfill their commitment to ALNP.

NOTE:  this learning objective shall be further broken down into specific lesson-based learning objectives and is still subject to final discussion with and approval by Mon Samson and Nerry Gool.

OUR MOTIVATION

The Bible says:

“If I speak in human and angelic tongues but do not have love, I am a resounding gong or a clashing cymbal.  And I have the gift of prophecy and comprehend all mysteris and all knowledge; if I have all faith so as to move mountains but do not have love, I am nothing.” 1 Cor 13: 1-2

We do this as an act of love.  Love for the brothers and sisters whom God calls to Lingkod.  Love for the men and women whom God anoints as their leaders, both the Action Group Leaders and the Branch Leaders / Women Moderators.  Love for the men and women in the marketplace whom we are called to evangelize.

God has equiped us (our team) with great gifts and talents.  We need to follow our Lord Jesus, who calls us to pick up our cross everyday.  This is not going to be easy work, but this is a light cross.  Let us therefore honor Him by doing this work well, and by the power of His Spirit of Love.

Thank you, and God bless us all.

Dear Mayzelle, Sheila, Cyra, John, Joseph, Erick (and Alice and Baby Pia),

Thank you so much for taking time out to attend the organizational meeting for this awesome project. I am so blessed to have you as part of this Team, and I pray that God will bless you for your obedience and sacrifice. May the Lord “prosper the work of our hands.”

From our Dec 3 meeting, we had agreed that we will focus on the FIRST 100 days of the Action Group Leader. So, we will limit the skill, knowledge and attitude set to those that will be needed by the new Action Group Leaders during this crucial 100-day period. — That is, unless Mon Samson or Nerry Gool have strong objections. 🙂
